MISSION STATEMENT:
To give the highest quality instruction in the dance arts with an emphasis on the development of coordination, poise, self esteem, as well as physical and mental discipline, while also preparing students for collegiate and professional dance opportunities.

DIRECTOR, SHAUNA WILSON Shauna Wilson is a highly skilled RAD ballet instructor with a great deal of experience. As a student she studied and passed Royal Academy of Dancing Examination up to the Intermediate Level. She was a member of the Youth Artist Ballet Company at B.Y.U. and other companies in the area. She is an outstanding person and we are pleased to have her expertise.

EARLET MEINERS, DIRECTOR EMERITUS, M.S., A.T.C.
Earlet has been trained in the Cecchetti Ballet Method and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), taking exams to the Professional Six Level. Currently, she is a Registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dancing, London, England. Earlet has performed throughout the world with the First United States Baton Twirling Team, the B.Y.U. Folk Ensemble and the Dearborn Ballet Theatre. She has a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from B.Y.U. and is a certified Athletic Trainer. Earlet had the opportunity to work at the SLC 2002 Olympics as an Athletic Trainer for the Hockey Venues. For many years Earlet has taught all types of dancing at the community, local, and collegiate levels. She was also the Dance Trainer for Brigham Young Performing Arts Companies and is the Artistic Director for the Utah Valley Civic Ballet Company.

INSTRUCTORS
Earlet Meiners and Shauna Wilson are the principal educators at the School of Ballet with a highly qualified staff of instructors and assistants. All instructors and assistants have their Intermediate Professional Ballet Certificates and are constantly involved in continuing education through workshops and examinations. Our instructors are Mallory Nielsen Meranda, Stephanie Scott and Candice Knox, assisted by Elise Meiners, Jessica Perl, Angie Abbott, Breanna Zundel and Heidi Johnson.

  • Artistic Director, Earlet Meiners received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree at B.Y.U. in Exercise Science and Athletic TrainingCertified Athletic Trainer. Dance Trainer at Salt Lake Knee (currently TOSH) and at Brigham Young University. Former Training & Performance Experience with Dearborn Theater Ballet, Brigham Young Folk Dance Ensemble. Extensive training through the Royal Academy of Dance, London England for past 25 years.
  • Examination Site for the Royal Academy of Dancing for Graded Examinations.
  • Careful instruction in Pointe Work- Instructor takes student for first pair of pointe shoe purchase.
  • Many extra hours donated by instructors and assistants for extra rehearsals for Performance and Examination practice sessions.
  • All instructors and Assistant constantly involved in continuing education through workshops and examinations.
  • Instructor travels with majors students to Vocational Graded Examinations held outside of the state.
