MISSION
STATEMENT:
We strive
to give quality instruction in the dance arts with emphasis on the development
of coordination, poise, self esteem, as well as physical and mental discipline.
DIRECTOR,
EARLET MEINERS, M.S., A.T.C.
Earlet has been trained in the
Cecchetti Ballet Method, taking exams to the Professional Six Level. Currently,
she is a Registered Teacher of the Royal Academy of Dancing, London, England.
Earlet has performed throughout the world with the First United States Baton Twirling
Team, the B.Y.U. Folk Ensemble and the Dearborn Ballet Theatre. She has
a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from B.Y.U. and is a certified
Athletic Trainer. Earlet had the opportunity to work at the SLC 2002 Olympics
as an Athletic Trainer for the Hockey Venues. For many years Earlet has taught
all types of dancing at the community, local, and collegiate levels. She
was also the Dance Trainer for Brigham Young Performing Arts Companies and is
the Artistic Director for the Utah Valley Civic Ballet Company.
INSTRUCTORS
Earlet Meiners and Shauna Wilson will be instructing at SBA.
Mallory, Janay and Candice will also be student teachers as well as assistants.
This year SBA students will also be assisted by Stephanie, Elise, and Heidi. Shauna
Wilson has studied dance most of her life. She dances as well as teaches. She
is highly skilled in both areas and has had a great deal of experience with various
teachers in the area. As a student she studied and passed Royal Academy of Dancing
Examination up to the Intermediate Level. She was a member of the Youth Artist
Ballet Company at B.Y.U. and other companies in the area. She is an outstanding
person and we are pleased to have her expertise again at SBA.
